It was a long time coming, but on Monday night, May 3rd, Team Irregardless walked into Icecrown Citadel, threw up 20 proud middle fingers, and earned their first Lich King kill.
With a one shot.

We all know that this should have happened weeks ago, but (ir)regardless of the "ifs" and "buts," we've toppled the Citadel, and we have our Kingslayer titles.
I'm proud as hell of this group. We've got some daunting heroics ahead of us, but to add that one big notch in our belt that we've been saving for Arthas feels pretty god damn cool.
as a thought for moving forward, are we going to make a list of hard modes and attempt them each week, or just toss the whole thing on heroic and go for it? its pretty clear that some are really easy, and some are total cockblocks. we need to plan that bitch out to take advantage of the loot, and some 251 stuff for Baddock as well i guess. just a thought
Absolutely, and while we can't know what to expect until we actually get our hands dirty, I think Cassey's hard mode post is a great template to use. Therefore, our first targets will be Lord Marrowgar, Lawlship Battle, Rotface and the Blood Princes.
Since we only run once a week with only a few precious hours to use, you're absolutely right Muggs, we'll have a pretty detailed plan of attack starting this Monday. [ image disabled ]

Grats guys, excellent work!
if you guys have any question about hard modes, whether it be which ones to take on or strategies in general for them, please feel free to ask, you know we're here to help.
Awesome job Team Irregardless!!!! Its awesome to see people you know and expecially the guild itself doing things like this. I am hopeing to be on either tonight or tomorrow works been crazy, but all in all congrats!!! What's the difference between a king and his horse? I don't mean kiddy shit like "One's a person and one's an animal" or "One has two legs and one has four." If their form, ability and power were exactly the same, why is it that one becomes the king and controls the battle, while the other becomes the horse and carries the king?! There's only one answer. Instinct! In order for identical beings to get stronger and gain the power they need to become king, they must search for more battles and power! They thirst for battle, and live to mercilessly, crush, shred, and slice their enemies! Deep, deep within our body lies the honed instinct to kill, and slaughter our enemies! But you don't have that! You don't have those pure, base instincts! You fight with your brain. You try to defeat your enemies with logic! And it doesn't work! You're trying to cut them with a sheathed sword! That's why you're weaker than me.

Continued success in hard modes! (Which aren't really that hard)
Psh, gonna have to disagree with you there, Gunny my man. We wiped quite a lot on most of these encounters as we were getting used to them. We didn't even take Marrowgar down the first night we tried him. Saurfang was a toughie as well, though we got him easy as soon as we got those adds down. The plague wing is a real bitch (AVR for the win!) and Putricide was pretty ridiculous.
Blood Queen is a joke, but Blood Princes took a lot of adjustments
Overall, they're all doable for sure, but some of these are really challenging and a LOT of fun. Heroic ICC made my raiding experience this tier
