1) Do not spam guild chat. (This includes the random linking of items into guild chat.)
2) Keep potentially offensive or argumentative topics of conversation out of guild chat (politics, religion, racial comments, ethnic comments, economics, etc.).
3) Be respectful of and courteous to guild members.
4) Do not charge crafting or enchanting fees to guild members. (The recipient should, however, provide or pay for materials required.)
5) Act with honor while you carry the Ævolution guild name. This includes public forums outside the game.
6) No offensive player or pet names will be allowed in the guild. (Offensive names over our guild tag dishonor the guild. The officers will determine whether or not a name is offensive.)
7) Attacks on low-level Horde cities by guild members brings dishonor to our guild name, and is not to be done by members of Ævolution. (World PvP is great when done in an honorable manner, e.g. raiding Horde capital cities, the old Southshore / Tarren Mill skirmishes, the in-game PvP objectives, etc.)
Inviting, Removing, Promoting and Demoting
Members
Inviting
Those wanting to become members of Ævolution will complete an application on the Ævolution website. The application will be copied to an officer forum, and the officers will discuss and vote whether or not to invite the applicant into the guild. Officers will have five (5) days to comment. At least two-thirds (2/3 or 66.7%) of the comments must be positive for the applicant to receive an invitation to Ævolution. If the voting is positive, any officer can invite the applicant to Ævolution as an Initiate. The officer will note the date of the invitation on the member’s information page in-game. The member will have two (2) weeks to prove himself acceptable to be promoted to full member. If the voting is negative, a reply will be made on the application informing the applicant that his application has been denied.
Removing
No member shall be removed from Ævolution without first being informed of the removal.
Members and members' alts who have not logged into the game in over 2 months will be removed from the guild. This statement implies notice being given of such removals.
If an officer observes a member acting in a way that, in the officer’s opinion, requires immediate removal, the officer shall inform the member of the reason for the removal and then remove the member from Ævolution. The officer shall post in the officer forum that the member has been removed and the reason for the removal at his/her earliest convenience. The other officers will review and investigate the matter. If two-thirds (2/3 or 66.7%) of the officers believe that removal was too harsh, the member will be invited back to the guild. If the member accepts the invitation, he/she will be promoted to the same rank held before the removal.
If the officers receive complaints from other members that a member is causing trouble or acting in ways that dishonor the guild, the officers shall investigate the situation to the best of their ability. If a majority (>50%) of the officers agree that the member should be removed from Ævolution, an officer shall notify the member of the reason for removal and then remove the member from Ævolution.
If an Initiate is deemed to be unacceptable by a majority (>50%) of the officers, an officer shall inform the initiate of the decision and then remove the initiate from Ævolution.
Officers
Promoting
If a current officer believes that a member has done exceptionally more than expected for the guild and has good leadership skills, the officer may post a nomination for promotion in the officer forum on the Ævolution website. (It is perfectly acceptable for a member of Ævolution to nominate another member to an officer. If the officer agrees, the officer will make the nomination on the website.) After the officers have reviewed and discussed the nomination, they shall vote on whether or not to promote the nominee to officer status. At least two-thirds (2/3 or 66.7%) of the officers must vote “Yes” in order for the nominee to be promoted to officer. If it is determined to promote the nominee, an officer shall approach the nominee with the offer of promotion. If the nominee agrees, he shall be promoted to officer.
Demoting
If an officer is not living up to the standards that he/she should as an officer, he/she can be demoted by the other officers. All officers except the one in question shall vote “yes” or “no” for removal. If a majority (>50%) of the votes are “yes,” the officer in question shall be demoted to regular member status.
Guild Master
If a majority (>50%) of the officers (other than the guild master) determine that the guild master is not fulfilling his duties, the guild master shall be replaced. If the majority is reached, nominations from the current officers shall be made for guild master. A vote shall be held from all officers. A nominee must receive a majority (>50%) of the votes to become the new guild master. If no nominee receives a majority of the votes, a run-off will be held between the two nominees who received the most votes. The nominee who gets the majority (>50%) of the votes shall become the new guild master of Ævolution.
Voluntarily Leaving
Members
We do not have a revolving door for people to continually quit the guild and then ask to be invited again. Each case will be looked at individually, but ordinarily a member who quits will only be allowed to rejoin the guild once. If a member quits a second time, rarely will a another chance be given to join the guild. Two-thirds (2/3 or 66.7%) of the officers would have to agree to reinstate someone who had quit the guild twice.
If a former member rejoins the guild, he/she will be given the lowest regular member rank. All other members will be considered to have more seniority than the member who rejoined.
It is our policy that if a player chooses to remove his or her main character from Ævolution, that player's alts must be removed from the guild as well. However, under extraordinary circumstances, a player may petition the officers to allow one (1) alt to remain in Ævolution so that the player can easily stay in touch with Ævolution's members. Two-thirds (2/3 or 66.7%) of the officers must approve, or the alt will not be allowed to remain in Ævolution. If approval is given, the player's alt will remain in Alt status and will not have access to the guild bank. Any such alts approved are subject to the same 2-month inactivity policy as all other members, and if removed for inactivity, these alts will not be invited back into Ævolution.
Officers
Resigning
If an officer feels that he/she should resign the position of officer, for whatever reason, he/she should post an entry in the officer forum on the website informing the other officers of this decision. No shame or guilt should be felt by or be held against the officer who is resigning. The resigning officer shall be demoted to the highest regular member rank and will be considered one of the guild's most senior members.
Quitting
Those who hold the rank of officer are held to a higher standard than those with regular member ranks. Quitting the guild by an officer is much more severe than a member who quits. Two-thirds (2/3 or 66.7%) of the officers must agree to allow an officer who quit the guild to rejoin the guild. As with members who quit the guild, those who quit while officer and rejoin the guild will be given the lowest regular member rank, and all regular members will be considered to have more seniority than the former officer.

The Code of Conduct now provides advance notice of such removals. It is your attitude more than your aptitude that determines your altitude. [ image disabled ]
